    About Us

    Hajj & Safety

The Hajj pilgrimage, one of the five pillars of Islam, holds profound spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. Rooted in the history of Prophet Ibrahim and restored by Prophet Muhammad, it represents a journey of faith, unity, and devotion. In The Gambia, the organization of Hajj is deeply connected to the nation’s Islamic heritage and its commitment to supporting pilgrims. With safety and well-being as top priorities, the Gambia National Hajj Commission ensures that every aspect of the pilgrimage, from travel logistics to medical assistance, adheres to the highest standards of care, allowing pilgrims to focus on their spiritual journey.

The Hajj rituals were formalized by the Prophet Muhammad during his one and only pilgrimage in the year A.D. 628. These rituals are deeply rooted in the stories of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his family, exemplifying their unwavering faith and submission to God.https://www.nahajj.com/service/about-hajj/

Pilgrims engage in specific rituals, such as circumambulating the Kaaba, performing sa’i between the hills of Safa and Marwa, standing in prayer at Arafat, and stoning the pillars at Mina, each with deep religious significance.https://www.nahajj.com/service/functions/
